This year Katie is going to play T-Ball. We went to get her some cleats and of course came away with much more. A batting helmet found it's way into the cart somehow. What's that you say? Was it pink? No.... no it wasn't. And like her bat last year, it just HAD to be.

Off to the hardware store I went for supplies.

It started off as a very normal helmet. Time for me to ruin it.

I taped off some sections of the helmet and sprayed it with primer made for plastic. After it dried I am supposed to be able to paint it like I would expect.

O... K.... As I was spraying it pink, the paint started to crack. You can't see it very well in this picture, but it looked kind of cool. Rather then make it "worse" we decided to take the tape off and see what it looks like.

Afte this photo I cleaned up the lines with an exacto knife. The pink/white and dark blue makes for a crappy combination but I am thinking of either making the whole thing look like this or making it some other color. Not sure yet. When it completly dries I will take it with me to the hardware store and see what color may look good with it.

This could end up looking REALLY COOL or like something out of a trailer park. We shall see.
